How Our Network Works for Homeowners
Talk to a local provider
Who You Talk To
Many people assume a referral site means a big company will show up at the door. That is not how it works here. You speak with an independent local provider from our network. It is their business, their schedule and their work.
What Happens on the First Conversation
Expect a few simple questions. The provider will ask where you see signs of mold, whether you noticed a leak or musty smell, and how old the home is. Older homes matter. Past repairs and aging pipes can change the plan.
They may suggest a visit to look around. Some can respond quickly, while others book later. Availability varies by provider.
Before the Visit
A little prep makes the talk easier. Take photos of stained walls or ceilings. Note when you first noticed a musty smell. Jot down any past leaks or repairs. If you can, clear a path to the problem area.
It also helps to ask how long the work may take and whether you need to leave the home. Providers can explain what to expect for dust, noise and drying equipment.
What to Ask a Provider
A good provider will not mind questions. Try these:
- Will you look for the moisture source, not just the mold?
- Do you offer certified mold testing, and who reads the results?
- How will you contain the area during residential mold removal?
- Can I get a written quote with the scope listed?
- How do you handle old plaster, wood or pipes?
- Do you hold the licenses my state or town requires?
Typical U.S. costs vary a lot by job size and home. A written quote is the most useful way to compare.
You Are in Control
A myth says you must sign right away. In practice, you can compare, ask for details and take time. There is no obligation to hire the first provider you speak with. If something feels unclear, ask again.
